The Norns

The ancient Norse legends tell that there were three goddesses called "Norns", who were responsible for driving the fate of both people and the gods.

They warned the gods of future evils, asking them to make good use of present and taught them healthy lessons of the past.

They were three sisters, namely: Urd, who represented the past; Verdandi, the present, and Skuld, the future.
They lived under the great tree Yggdrasil, which it supported the nine worlds, where they wove the loom of the fate of each person, by wires representing the life of each one of them, by representing the length of each thread, the longevity of each person.

Another mission of the Norns was watering and caring for the sacred tree with spring water Urdar, for Yggdrasil would stay always fresh and green.
